چکیده

Methods Steady-state free precession (SSFP) imaging was performed to assess ventricular function, along with tagging. Black blood T1 and T2 weighted fast spin echo sequences were acquired for tissue characterisation and phase contrast imaging was used to quantify blood flow. First pass perfusion imaging was performed during the administration of gadolinium and finally Late Gadolinium Enhancement (LGE) imaging was acquired.

Predominant, severe right ventricular outflow tract obstruction in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Recently, new cardiac imaging techniques as cardiac magnetic resonance have shown to play a primary role for a recognition of unusual mechanisms of right and left ventricular obstruction. However, echocardiography remains the most widely used technique and the first step to recognize myocardial hypertrophy, blood flow velocity, and pressure gradients in real time (2). We describe a rare case of...

Anomalous Papillary Muscle Insertion Causing Dynamic Left Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction without Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy

Anomalous papillary muscle insertion directly into the surface of the mitral valve leaflet is rare, especially in a subject without apparent evidence of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. We present a case of this isolated congenital malformation producing two hemodynamic sequelae of dynamic left ventricular outflow tract obstruction and severe mitral regurgitation.

An Unusual Type of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

An unusual type of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy was diagnosed in a 17-year-old girl who presented with dyspnea on exertion. The hypertrophied myocardium was localized to the anterior portion of the left ventricle from the base to the apex without left ventricular outflow tract obstruction. On cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), patchy and linear delayed hyperenhancement was shown in the an...

A clinically and echocardiographically demonstrable dynamic left ventricular outflow tract obstruction

Dynamic left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) obstruction is a distinctive finding on echocardiography and often supports a diagnosis of hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM). It is also a clinical entity in its own right and is reproducible with stress. We describe a case of dynamic outflow obstruction in an elderly man with classical exertional symptoms. Echocardiography was used to ...

Right ventricular pacing for right ventricular outflow tract obstruction in a man with biventricular hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

A 40-year-old man with known hypertrophic cardiomyopathy presented with syncope after coughing. Physical examination revealed a systolic murmur that was accentuated by the Valsalva maneuver. An electrocardiogram suggested biventricular hypertrophy and biatrial enlargement (Fig. 1). Echocardiograms revealed asymmetric septal hypertrophy with a diastolic septal thickness of 2.3 cm, and evidence o...
